A Facebook friend of mine posted a film, some months ago, of a woman clad in a black burka/hijab being stopped in the street by a group of men. She's lectured by one of the men for a few minutes whilst being forced to sit on the kerb.

At the finish of the speech, the man's colleague pulls out a handgun and shoots her in the head, resulting in her slumping dead into the gutter. The group cheers. I wonder what offended them about her, showing her face in public ? Going to the shops alone ? Sombody's mum who won't come home. ISIS or Taliban, I guess. Bestial behaviour. I won't link to the film on here.

Upsetting to watch.

Two different things Teddy. A hijab can be little more than a scarf, whereas a burka is the full blackout job:

Susceptibility to the concept of religion can, alas, be explained in terms of Darwinian biology. A firm belief that 'god' is on your side gives you a great psychological advantage in everything that you, and your genes, do.
