Wow... some injury that would have caused! Luckily nobody under neath. Probability and all that I know but that would have been bad.

And also if a car was under that it would have caused a lot of damage.

Do not know why, but reminds me of the old advice that you can drink snow, but not wise if it is yellow!

Also reported in DT.
Said there were two reports of frozen urine falling from planes. I always understood thet Aeroplne toilets were sealed, and emptied on the ground.
Perhaps one of our former pilots could comment.

Blue Ice, plane bogs are self-contained, but they need vents and sometimes........

The outside bog on Yorkshire Airlines definitely wasn’t self contained....

Toilets are sent into a tank, waste water from sinks isn't always though.

If there was a claim made, how easy would be to track back to the culprit?

If that had hit someone it would have caused death or severe injury so what charges could be brought or would it be 'just one of those thing?'

I would think it pretty difficult to prove it came form a particular aircraft and even then you would have to prove negligence by the Airline.

Always good to have some Personal Accident and Life Insurance :-)

If the clock on the CCTV were synced exactly with GMT/local time you could possibly make a link to a specific aircraft on approach. If it were out by a definable number of seconds or minutes then same link might be possible - aircraft accident investigators are used to doing these sort of syncing exercises.

Maybe same if one of guys in shot had a precise time link

It CCTV was totally and randomly off beam then no.

Presumably in varying conditions, cold upstairs and humid lower down, ice can form on the airframe. Comes off in lumps at rising temperature or as flaps are deployed and/or when landing gear goes down.
