 Connecting soundbar - Bobby
Hisense 43M3000 TV
Sharp HT-SBW110 soundbar (from Lidl)

Have this TV in back room and impulse bought the soundbar today.
Apparently can connect via HDMI -CEC and ARC or via optical cable.
It would appear that my TV is only CEC but not ARC whatever that means? It detects my 4K firestick as CEC device but not the soundbar.

So have it connected via optical cable. TV stations sound comes out the soundbar but when I try any of the inbuilt apps like Netflix, YouTube, iPlayer, the sound doesn’t come out the soundbar.

However if I access these apps on the firestick, the sound does come out the soundbar.

Any ideas on
1. Why the HDMI CEC won’t work?
2. Why the onboard apps don’t work ?

I know both TV and soundbar are basic eqpt but I still want to try and get the best out of them!

The firestick is providing digital audio via the HDMI port, and out through the digital optical cable.

The apps are clearly using the analogue output.

Is there a sound setting on the TV anywhere?

Yeah there is but nothing that is only for the apps. It’s only the one bunch of audio settings, doesn’t seem to differentiate on what the source is if you know what I mean?
