Hi GB. This Country has gone to hell in a hand cart. DD would cut me off, sequestrate my assets and burn me at the stake if I got close to saying exactly what I think of this place now. I'm sure most of the old school think the same.

Having dinner in a mo, but will be snapping at heels later with luck.

13 years of new labour have brought this country to its knees.
I often wonder to myself what Nelson, Wellington, or Churchill would say.
Unfortunately - I don't think any party, hung or otherwise, can save HMS Britannica now, alas.

Well all is not lost. Bailed out banks are still able to pay bonuses whilst they are in debt to the taxpayer.

you know that absolutley gets on my small blue garden birds.

How they can claim to pay bonuses, because they made a profit this year, defeats me.

They havent made a profit till they pay back all the money we - you and I - bailed them out with. Once thats paid back, THEN they can claim to make a profit, and get a bonus. Not till then.

Why is it Barclay’s get lots of things wrong?
When you gave them your trust
And you’ve been there so long
They’ll spin you a yarn
But ne’er sing you a song
Why is it Barclay’s get lots of things wrong?

Umbrella’s abound when the Sun’s in the Sky
Withdrawn at the first sign of rain from on high
They’ll soon be a yarn bordering some kind of lie
Dear Barclay’s will soon make your life go awry.

"But the Treasury has insisted that the contract goes instead to the General Dynamics Ascot armoured vehicle built in Spain and Austria."

The vehicles may be made in Spain and Austria, but that doesn't mean they haven't been designed and developed in the UK. General Dynamics is a major employer in the UK with the possibility of them creating more than 10,500 extra jobs in the future. tinyurl.com/yfhc4wq

Maybe this is true L'es though we've been told so many lies by politicians faithfully reported as the gospel truth by the media (read govts propoganda dept as far as i'm concerned) at the time that we might take this as spin to soften the blow and give more false hope.

The Bae closure of pruduction here is fact, the GD promise is at the moment just that, yet another promise.

With your background you've seen enough destruction of our industries under the leadership (sic) of both parties not to be a little cynical of the timing of that article, which is of course GD's own publication as far as i can see.
