House Insurer at it again. - Falkirk Bairn
2 years ago my eldest was £300+ for house and contents - 12 yrs never claimed a penny.

Broken into by a druggie 15 mths ago they stole £1000 kit and caused £200 window damage.

Insurer upped premium to £600 - phone call and they reduced it to £400. Same again this year Premium upped to £600 - phone call and they climbed down to £400 again.

If you don't ask /challenge they will walk all over.

Comparisons sites all around £400 for a company you have heard of. Some "uncommon names" were as low as £250.

No longer legally enforceable I believe, your insurance company informs your mortgage company if you tell them who the "interested party" (mortgage company) is.

Tell your mortgage company to poke their fee somewhere dark and brown.

Some companies will refund any penalty that a mortgage company charges if you go to them.
