An Englishman, An Irishman and several Welshmen - Duncan
This is a rugby question.

What happened between Shaun Edwards (an Englishman) and Fergus Connolly (an Irishman), both employed by the Wales RFU?

It seems they got into a strop with each other - apparently over the choice of songs sung by the Welsh players after their win over Ireland. Handbags were flourished.

Anybody from the land of song know what actually happened?

Heard a story of an "incident" in the team hotel and that Edwards was banned from the match....

And the French.

The problem is, that although England won the Championship, you only remember the last game.

What were the songs that the Welsh sang that caused so much offence to the Irish?

Som press reporting.

and from the Guardian
"Connolly, who is from Scotstown in County Monaghan, is understood to have remonstrated with Edwards over the songs that were chosen by the Welsh to celebrate victory in an emotive match against Ireland at the Millennium Stadium. Ireland were indignant that Wales had benefited from a huge refereeing error that set up the deciding try, which was scored by the scrum‑half Mike Phillips.

The scuffle between Connolly and Edwards is understood to have started in a bar reserved for the team and their families, but there were suggestions that it continued outside. The police were not involved and Wales are determined to keep the issue "in-house", repeatedly saying it was a team matter and not involving the WRU.

You have to hand it to the Irish, don't you?

The Welsh sang some songs, the Irish objected and the English get the blame!

Nothing new there then!
