Thanks for that, wasnt sure what Olympic tickets to go for, thats made up my mind.

That's more or less what I did when I tried to fix an old valve radio without pulling the plug out...He did achieve a more elegant landing to be absolutely fair mind.

Remarkable!
Remember seeing a show by a troup of Russian tumblers in about 1970 at Earls Court/Olympia or somewhere who had similar skills - remember being absolutely astounded by their gymnastic skills. Just tried looking up "Russian tumblers" on Google and all I can find is articles on pigeons!

Don't Google "Blue Tits" whatever you do...

It wasn't the Moscow State Circus was it? I saw it at one of the London venues as a kid in the early 70's ...

Might have been Cheddar - but I'm pretty sure it was just tumblers. Show was sponsored by Daily Mirror who I had a summer job with - got free tickets - think it was Autumn 1972.

Pah !...that's just part of my daily workout. I hadn't realised I was being filmed, though.
Watched a bit of the ladies European championships the other day ( Yes, I know, aging perv ! ) Incredible performance on the uneven bars to win Gold by our own Beth Tweddle.
Good for her !

I googled 'post lashings' last weekend and nearly blushed:)
Parcel arrived Ted, but Ian will have to open it as I can't get through all that gaffer tape!

I get to attend daughter's cheerleading competitions a few times a year and I always like tumbling bits the best.

this is a good looking tumbler, specially filled with Tanqueray and tonic with ice and lemon

I don't see how that is Humanly possible, so it just goes to show what we can achieve, with dedication.

For sustained brilliance I think this lot are hard to beat...as Dog says - how is it humanly possible to get the body into such shapes?

SWMBO and I saw them in their home theatre Shanghai and we just could not believe some of the feats being performed before our eyes.... amazing .....
Circus as an art form is pretty much looked down on in Britain but if you see the Chinese or Russian State Circus on tour here - take my tip and go see.....

Actually you can see some pretty amazing acts if you watch 'Britian's got talent', although admittedly they do tend to be spread a bit thinly amongst the dancing dogs etc.

I wonder if this happens to Humph as he cycles down the village street??

We saw this act with 12 on a bike at the Chinese State Circus in Brighton a few years ago....................... I remember thinking at the time how massive the thighs were on the girl who was actually pedalling ( Yes I know I'm just an old perv ).
...............would you believe that the world record is actually 17 on a bike . Over half a ton of weight , amazing......

Slight thread drift ... We went to see these in Eastbourne, back in my socialist workers party rep on car4play days:
