 Washing machine question - L'escargot
To stop the cold water pipes rattling when the washing machine (abruptly) stops the cold water going into it, I've reduced the rate of flow through the tap in the inlet pipe. What effect is this likely to have on the operation of the machine? For a given load and machine setting, what governs how much water goes into the machine? It's a Hotpoint Ultima WMA76.

None, it will just take a little longer to fill, probably unnoticeable

Usually Hydro/pneumatic operated level sensors. Some expensive machines use flow meters. Its not timed so that it can account for varying flow rates.

In short, you have no problem doing what you have done.
