Burrito filling.
1 large or two small chicken breasts.
Oil for frying.
1 small (UK size) or equivalent, red or green pepper, diced.
1 medium (UK size) onion, chopped finely.
Half, or a little more, of a tin of chopped tomato - a mixture of this and tomate frito works well for a more intense flavour.
2 heaped teaspoonsful of paprika, (Pimentón Dulce).
1/2 teaspoonful HOT red pepper, (Pimentón Picante)
1/2 teaspoonful ground cumin.
Half a chicken stock cube, dissolved in water - or a good half of a scoop of chicken stock powder
2 teaspoonsful brown - demarara or muscovado - sugar.
About 1 tablespoonful of lemon juice or wine vinegar.
Method.
Cut the chicken into small bite sized pieces. Seal it in the hot oil & remove from the pan.
In the remaining oil soften the onion.
Add the diced red or green pepper and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the chicken and cook for a further couple of minutes.
Add the pimentón dulce, the pimentón picante, the ground cumin and the sugar. Stir around until mixed well. Add the tomato and chicken stock liquid or powder, together with just enough water to cover the chicken pieces.
Cook gently for around 30 minutes.
Check the seasoning and add enough lemon juice or vinegar to taste - the idea is to cut the sweetness of the sugar a bit.
Cook uncovered until the sauce has reduced to the level where it will be able to be put into the wraps without running everywhere.
Fill your heated wraps with the mixture, add grated cheese, sour cream or crème fraiche, a lettuce leaf, fold over & eat!

recipe for crisp sandwich
method:-
butter 2 slices of bread
open preferred crisps
place crisps on bread
add second slice and press firmly
enjoy
im from the crisp centre of the uk and ive always wondered if it is a regional delicasy
or nationwide?
|
Now of we are descending to sandwich level..............................................
Take two thick slices of home-made wholemeal bread.
Butter liberally with Normandy salted butter. (The sort with sea-salt crystals in it.)
Spread a thick layer of Marmite on one slice of bread.
Now spread the Marmite with crunchy peanut butter.
Top with a layer of cold mashed potato.
Add a generous amount of Pembrokeshire extra mature cheddar.
Place the remaining slice of bread on this.
If it is less than 4 or 5 cm thick - FAIL.
Eat it in the privacy of a room where SWMBO can't see you.

I've eaten that banquet in some of the most desirable layby's in this country:)

Simple chocolate mousse.
Separate four eggs.
Melt - don't cook - a 150g bar of chocolate in the microwave.
Blend the yolks and chocolate.
Whip the whites until they form stiff peaks, and fold gently into the yolk/chocolate mixture.
Pour into individual serving glasses and chill for a few hours.
Decorate with whipped cream and grated chocolate - if you remembered to grate a bit off the bar before you melted it.
Serves four, or three if you are feeling greedy.
A real treat, and not outrageously unhealthy because each serving contains less chocolate than a Yorkie bar.

We'll be on Come Dine With Me before you know it.

Whats wrong with that Ted to much of a smell.>:)
