There's just been a warning on the radio that drifting snow might be able to get into your loft and cause damage when it melts.

I'd check under ya bed while you're at it, just to be on the safe side, like.

If there's any Reds under my bed, I'll kill 'em.

'bout time you bought a divan, Dog. Not enough space for snow under one of them.

Nah, divans are no good, nowhere to put the chamber pot.

Reminds me of the French art thief who was arrested driving away from the Louvre in his getaway van. When asked why he'd done it he explained....

I needed the Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh...

Come on Iffski. We all know they're in it, not under it.

Good advice Dog. This new snow is a lot more cunning than the old stuff. I'm surprised we're allowed out in it.

Actually, I sleep with the window open (cept when the wind is in the East) so I could theoretically get some precipitation under my bed which is why I keep a shovel and some old sacks under there.

It may be railway snow, that stuff can get anywhere.

I was out on the railway that famous day in 1991. Incredibly fine stuff, almost like tiny crystals of pure ice. Round home it got everywhere; round the windows, through the lounge airbrick and under the shed door.

Railwaymen worked their 'arrises off to get us all home, some on the track at points others clearing door channels at every station and swapping us onto a depot fresh train at MK.

And the bit everbody remembers is one of the reptiles getting a in smart alec line at a press conference the next day.

Grrrrr.......

I have come across that type of snow several times when I have been skiing, it is like fine sand.

Possibly around the same time I came out one morning to find a dusting of snow on the seat of my car, despite the doors and windows being tightly shut. Absolutely amazing how it found it's way in.

Pug 205.

Reliants never leaked, hit deep enough water and they would even float ;-)

Very good advice. In the past I have had to deal with snow in my loft.
My roof had no lining felt and wind had been blowing the very fine snow through the gaps in the tiles. We had that same sort of snow last night but no wind.
I stapled builders paper on the underside to reduce it happening again.
P. S. Kingston on Thames is not normally a high risk area :-)

Broad sheets take less staples.

In some social circles the chamber pot is know as a Gerzunder, but not if you have a divan, obviously! If you have a divan it is known as a foot bath!

NEVER.

You can tell if you have had reds under the bed because they leave footprints in the snow.

I've checked the loft very carefully and found no snow.

It could well be because we haven't had any snow though.....:-)

If I was Stuartli, knowing that they have had no snow there... I'd check hourly. There could be some later.

Yes, if he gives us his phone number I will telephone him every twenty minutes until 4 a.m. Pat gets up about then and she can take over.

Whilst on the 'must check it' approach, also check that the freezer door is not slightly open. It might frost up. So I'd put the freezer in the loft so you can check it when you check the loft.

I'm on the case, but if you need me early you have to post in Motoring as I go there first;)
