 IE version detection - borasport
I'm running Windows 7 and IE9 - how come the likes of say Youtube or Flickr keep telling me I'm running IE7 ?

Maybe you have them running in "compatibility mode"?
Later IE versions report themselves as 7 when that's set.

Have a look and see if "Tools / Compatibility view" is set while in those sites and unset it if so. If that fixes the problem, go into "Tools / Compatibility view settings" and remove those sites from the compatibility list if they are there.

If you go to Help and open About Internet Explorer, a panel will detail exactly which version of Internet Explorer is on the system.
