As in...won't start up, or won't load pages?

There is a preferences folder somewhere - should be in C:Users[username]AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault - try renaming that to preferences.old - Chrome will re-create next time it starts

Use Comodo Dragon. It is based on Chrome with better privacy. Chrome addons work on this too.

What actually happens? Do you click on the icon and the mouse pointer shows that its waiting but then dies? Is there some error? Or is there absolutely nothing?

It comes up a white screen, fails, box says Chrome error, error encountered closes.

I have re-installed,re-booted.........other browsers are fine!

Did you try renaming preferences file?

Is there no other text with the error?

Just a quick update.

After approx 2 days Chrome has decided to start working again............since downloading the latest version (following the issues) I have had no luck, chnaged no settings and BINGO all seems well.

I was using Firefox for 2 days and it was working quite happily. Fired up IE9 and it too was fine.
