 Problems when forwarding mail. - henry k
We have to forward mail to my daughter and usually it is not a problem.

Recently some correctly addressed forwarded mail has come back to us.
Our very helpful postie advised us that the auto sorter read the code rather than the address hence the return.
The answer is to black out the feint orange code on the envelope as well as the re-address label.

We are expecting the usual couple of Christmas cards to the previous owners of our house ( over 30 years ago) .

We used to get loads of wrongly delivered Christmas cards. As children we used to swap the cards around into the wrong envelopes and post them on.
There used to be a cheaper rate for unsealed letters, so cards were usually unsealed. Sometimes we'd compose additional messages.
I still chuckle when I think of people reading them.
