Is there any way of clearing my Google search history on the iPhone while using Safari?

click the little book icon at the bottom, history, clear.

Sorry I meant to say within Safari using the Google search box in the top right of the screen, the one you mentioned clears the main page history and not what was entered into the Google box, that seems to have mind of its own.

Settings > Safari > clear history.
