Spam emails on phone - PhilW
I have a company phone (Samsung Galaxy Note II) through which I receive email notifications of jobs to be done. Lately I have been receiving a large number of spam (phishing??) emails (purporting to be) from all sorts of banks I have never had an account with, Paypal, HMRC, Sage Accounting etc.
Unlike my computer, there doesn't seem to be any spam folder I can send them to so I just delete them without opening them.
The email account is with O2 and my email address is anonymous in that it is just my company employee number and I only use phone for company business so emails are only from company itself or other drivers.
I have already deleted about 10 of these emails in the last couple of hours - any suggestions as to how they can be blocked??
Pardon my technotittery if the solution is obvious to all but me!!
Thanks in advance
Phil

I'e got no answer to your issue but was plagued for about 2 days with texts from loan companies (I suspect related) shortly after I signed up for something (which was legit) online.
You may just find they go away.

Can you not access your 02 account online and set up filters/message rules, such as "if header contains breast enlargement, then delete it".

Thanks for replies.
I can't access the account because it is a company account - email address is "employee number @ company name dot co dot UK" and requires a password which I don't have to change settings.
I'll give them a ring on Monday to see if they can sort it out - can't just be me having the problem - I'll check with other drivers also.

On the BT/Vodaphone service you can forward spam texts to 7726 ("spam")

They send you a thank you text.

No idea if it does any good.

Android has a Block feature for all incoming mobile phone calls numbers if you need to stop them.

So does the iPhone. You can also block txt messages too.

Yes, but these are emails.
Got a few today - several (purporting to be) from HMRC, the land registry, National Insurance and, interestingly the last 2 were from Pfizer offering cheap Viagra which is the last thing I need!
You can speculate all you like - I'm not telling you!
