 Malwarebytes error - Ambo
If I try to open Malwarebytes, I now get the message,

Run-time error '383'
'Text' property is read only

and can't get any further. Neither can I uninstall it to start again. Can anyone suggest a remedy please? Or a different (free) program to do the same job?

Did you try searching the Internet for an answer before posting? Immediately found this on the Malwarebytes forum via an internet search.

No, I should have done of course but thanks for the link. This has worked well but with an odd side effect - the PC's operations are all slightly delayed.

It seems the "free" version of Malwarebytes now is only a one-month free trial. What other genuinely free programme will do the same job please?

AFAIK, the current (new) version of Malwarebytes is still free.

Make sure you download the free version, not the free trial (of the premium version).

I've been running it now for getting on two months without any issue - though the interface is somewhat different.

This version is free and runs constantly when the computer is on.

Thanks. I had the other version but it seemed to want money.
