 Strava Mapping App - Duncan
I do a bit of cycling. I was recently recommended to download the free Strava mapping app to my iPhone.

I tried it and did a short ride with the phone in my pocket. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the amount of information that the app had collected.

It had distance, average speed and ascent. It had also divided the ride into segments and gave speeds for each segment and comparative speeds for other Strava users, so that I could see how well I had done.

Has anyone else tried it?

Are there other apps out there that do an even better job, for nothing?

Sounds similar to Runkeeper.

Having dusted the cobwebs from my bicycle last weekend, and experimented for the first time in my life with a "quick release" front wheel*, I've been looking about at apps. Strava is one I was on the verge of grabbing, so now will to explore at the next opportunity.

I did grab BikeHub, which in the Youtube video looks quite good, but not tried it on the road yet. I like the point A to point A mapping idea.

As a negotiator in a hostage situation I'd stick to the building, Martin.
