 Webcams - Alastairw
The boy would like me to get a webcam for my PC so that he can Skype his pleas for beer money. I could use it for other things, so I'm not averse to getting one.

My research so far has shown there is a huge spread of prices from under £10 to over £30, but I have no idea what to look out for. I should be grateful for some pointers.

Nb. Its a Dell PC, running Windows 7, if that is relevant to my query.

We use Microsoft ones in work for video linking. You plug them in and they work well..

Probably don't need anything more expensive than Amazon's #1 best seller, £16:

EDIT: the black version is the best seller, but that's an extra £1!

If you are anywhere near a B and M discount store shop, they sell webcams from well known brands at very reasonable prices.

Paid under £10 for a 1.3Mp Trust webcam that's ideal for the job and sits on top of the monitor.
