Word 2013 table borders visible when printed - Focusless
When editing tables in Word I know invisible borders are shown in grey so you know where they are, but I thought they would disappear when printed out. They don't. Anyone know how to get rid of them in the printout?

If the borders are printing, then they are not 'invisible' in the document. Select the table cells where you don't want borders and remove them.

Yeah, thanks. I'm sure that's different to how it used to be (many years ago) but probably wrong.

Are you thinking gridlines show up as grey and don't print? In Word 2013, Gridlines are dashed lines.

If you select the cells in the table you can to remove borders from, then on Home ribbon, in the Paragraph section there's the Borders icon (bottom right in the section). From there you can select No border, or select Border and Shading...

I don't think this is very intuitive - Office 2010:

Highlight the whole table (and only the table) or the cells affected.

Click 'Design' under 'Table Tools'

Click the drop-down by the 'Borders' button and change it to All Borders.

The Borders button will now toggle the lines on and off.

Rob's method works the same way and is probably quicker if that is all you want to do.
