BT have lost connection on a major part of the backbone

Could take 48 hours, large swaithes of east Midlands, east Anglia and se England are down

Coincidentally we had issues with Virgin at about the same time in N.Kent. It mainly affected incoming emails but they said it would take until Friday to sort out, ended being fixed in about 8 hours.

There's been problems with LINX with power to one of their data centres. That might be the related cause.
