My 2 yo Ipad Air has been a great piece of kit... Ideal for web browsing and email. Unfortunately today, whilst typing emails , inputting text became really slow. I would type on the on screen keyboard, but there was a short delay before any characters showed up on screen. Then this afternoon, whilst receiving emails, I noticed that ALL emails I have ever sent simply disappeared! Then sometimes, over the past few months, emails which I have put into the trash, then deleted, arrive again!
Woooah..any ideas please. It's not life or death, but really annoying.

I don't really know, but a wild.a*** guess says you've accidentally clicked on some restore ot roll back apllication.
The delays were because it was working its butt off in the background and it has restored your email account or your data to an earlier date.

I think this behaviour sounds like IMAP (rather than SMTP/POP3). I haven't yet fathomed it out but when I delete something from my Inbox, sometimes if I do not change folder or exit Outlook it pops back in again a minute later.
Maybe it's IMAP specifically on Virgin media - who is your ISP?

Please give it a hard reboot : hold power & home button at the same time, the ipad will shut down, dont release until you see the apple sign then release and wait for reboot, hope it could help
