 Toshiba RDXV59DTKB - bathtub tom
I've been given one of these things. It's a single tuner freeview decoder, HDD, DVD and VHS recorder that's capable of transferring recordings from one format to another. It's got a 250GB HDD. Google it for the full spec.
Any suggestions as to what to do with it, other than bin it?

You might get £20 - £30 on eBay of you can be bothered...

If it works and you have manual/remote nearer £90-£150. These devices are in demand... I've had quite a few of the similar Panasonic models... never get less than £100 and sell in a week.

So it really depends what your "is it worth the trouble" threshold is!

I've the manual and remote. I've checked the function of the freeview, HDD, and DVD, but I haven't any VHS tapes for the VCR.
I put it on Freecycle and it's created a lot of interest, perhaps I'll have a re-think.

I see a private seller able to describe his as A1 achieved £240 back in Jan!

Along similar lines the better camcorders (that take tape) fetch very good money too.

Much of the demand for both is folks transferring old video recordings to hard drive or DVD for archive purposes. Certainly with the Panasonic units I've had you can record tape to the hard drive then make basic edits finally burning to DVD.
