 Windows Hotbar - maltrap
I' ve just uninstalled Windows Hotbar, i find it a nuisance, the thing is i never installed in the first place,. Are Windows allowed to install programmes onto my comuter without permission?

It would have installed with something else. It would not have been Windows itself. And yes Microsoft are allowed to install what they want if you allow automatic updates.

It arrived on the back of another program, not windows, as ratts said.

To stop this in the future, never accept the default "simple" automated install, always take the "expert" one, this will allow you to take out items you dont want.
