 PayPal spoof message? - sherlock47
Anybody seen this email ? Looks quite convincing with several genuine links, but what is odd is that May is spelt in French.

BT Yahoo Spam Filter did not pick it up.

The giveaway is that it was sent to one of my email aliases that I do not use!

From email address "PayPal services Protection @ email.com"

Part of the text follows

Dear users of PayPal services,

Due to upcoming Mai 2011, and recent changes in PayPal's Service Agreement you need to submit additional details on your PayPal account. Starting from 2011 all PayPal accounts will come with complete detailed information! Identity protection matters. And PayPal works day and night to help keep your identity safe.

The basic spoof has been knocking around for yonks...:-)

But there were some recent changes to PayPal's terms and conditions which may catch some out.

>> Dear users of PayPal services,

Straight away that says to me that it's not actually an email from PayPal.

Any correspondence I've ever had from them has my forename and surname either in the subject header, in the first line of the email (eg, Dear Joe Bloggs), or in both the subject header and first line.
