PC Switch Problem - Clk Sec
I've noticed over the last week or so that I've had to hold the switch on my PC for
several seconds before it fires up. However, this morning it took several attempts before the start up screen appeared, and then it immediately switched itself off.

It seems to be working OK now, but any advice will be much appreciated.

Is the switch self latching?

A friend a few years ago had a similar problem. New switch solved the problem.

If the case a reset switch then wire that into the power on switch pins on the motherboard. That way you can work out if its the switch itself or a power supply problem.

If there is no reset switch if there is access just disconnect the switch and try shorting the pins with a screw driver (be careful!). I have made my own test switch which is basically a two pin header to connect to the pins and two wires I simply short.

Not sure, but a good spring clean seems to have cured it.

You were right, Rattle. I had a new unit installed yesterday.

Thanks.
