Was heading out this evening to pick my eldest from Uni, about a 7 hour round trip.
About 20 minutes in to the journey, an ambulance was comming towards me on the wrong side of the road.
There were some traffic lights ahead on red and it was clear that the ambulance was going to go around them on the wrong side, so I stop about 15 car lengths short and signal to the ambulance that it can come forward.
What happens?
Cars from a side road on the opposite side of the road, between me and the traffic lights decide to pull out in front of me delaying the ambulance - they could see the ambulance - they were waiting to cross the stationary queue of traffic in the other direction heading towards the accident.
Clearly I stopped too short.
