We picked up our pre-reg 1.2SE car on Wednesday and have had time to get to know its workings etc. Yesterday was the turn of the engine bay which was a bit dusty and would benefit from a bit of a spruce up especially around the battery.
What I did notice and what worries me somewhat is the air intake tube that goes into the air filter on top of the engine. This tube seems to be constructed of a thin tubular plastic membrane held within a framework - fair enough (cheap) but ours is very cracked and brittle and I'm sure that's not right and looks as though on the point of disintegration!
