That's certainly something that could be tried, (I suspect when I'm next there in case it goes belly-up) but the switchover instructions for fibre indicate that the newly-supplied VDSL-compatible homehub could be immediately installed (prior to switchover) on the existing ADSL line, and that it would adjust to the new connection when it was changed. (the DSL connection on the hub direct to the phone line copes with both).
That, combined with the lack of any observed break in service when the switchover was supposedly done (and all the other factors already discussed) imply to me that it hasn't been switched. (I can find other instances on the web where this is the case).
