Anyone up for this one?

The lunchtime TV news on the Beeb had a lady reporting on this, and she said there were two main roles - setting interest rates and keeping an eye on the banks. After some other waffle she went on to say there had never been a female BoE Governor, now maybe was the time.
I think I read somewhere that there are specialist headhunters already engaged. I must say I'd have thought at that level there would only be a fairly limited pool of eligible candidates, and that these would already be on someone's radar.
For me, I don't mind who gets the job but I do hope the appointment is done fairly and squarely on the basis of ability. and doesn't become a diversity box-ticking exercise just for it's own sake.
