we have a Screwfix (seen by me as an adult Argos IYKWIM) opening in the next town, right next to Home Bargains - can't wait

I've two of them locally and a Toolstation which usually seems cheaper.

Toolstation also has free coffee for all.

S'fix offers biscuits (sometimes chocolate, if the employees have not finished them :)
to Electrifix/Plumbfix members - and also shorter queues.

Used Toolstation a couple of times for fixings. First was a captive bolt for a luggage guard to replace one I'd carelessly dropped into a void in Berlingo's bodywork. Second was to retain a toilet seat where the bolts/fixings supplied were a fraction of a mm to large for mountings on pan.

On both occasions staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and went out of their way even though neither item was even a fiver.

Another vote for Toolstation.
A bought a pack of nail plates for splicing 4 x 2 fence posts and a pack or arris rail brackets.
Apart from being the most convenient to collect they were way way cheaper than anywhere else.
More items than I require now but still cheaper and I have "spares"

Dragged a set of Square 8's out of the back of the garage earlier in the year. In really good fettle. The rubber holding the covers on have lost some of its grip though. Ought to try selling them off.
