Paddy climbs wearily up the stairs after a long evening on the Black and White Wonder, falls into bed and drops off to sleep straight away.
Suddenly there’s a ginormous bang and crashing noise, he’s showered with broken glass and the nose of a Boeing 737 appears through the shattered window.
He wakes up, rubs his eyes and says ‘Oh begorrah, I must have left the landing lights on.’
To be honest, I got that last night from a now forgotten Irish comedian appearing in a 40-year-old edition of The Good Old Days - about the only thing apart from the news that I can bear to watch on TV these days. (And I only watch the news with the sound turned down and reading the ticker}.
