The only problem, really was identifying the engine code we needed. The first firm I rang had an accident damaged Astra sport and he showed me pictures to prove the car was just shunted up the rear. The engine was £350 delivered to the garage for Andy to stick in.
I'm sure he has Corsa stuff but I agree, Dad's car is the way to go, it doesn't look too bad and it's a chain engine...well tried and tested. Cheap and easy to maintain.
If you wanted to change to a bigger S/H car, I would look at the Almeira or Tino.
The little indy dealer down by McDonald's has some nice looking cheapos of vaious makes from a Grand Espace down to a nice looking '97 Escort.
