The Severn Bore took a few bore fans by surprise at Stonebench, Gloucester on Monday 1 March 2010.
It's one of nature's finest, natural phenomena. If the barometric pressure is low, the wind from the southwest and just the right level of water in the river, then a large spring tide will produce a high bore wave on the River Severn.
Today's bore was rated as a "four star" bore. An even bigger five star bore is scheduled for Tuesday 2 March.
