Research published today has highlighted the increasing numbers of elderly drivers on the roads.

The report shows 60% of motorists aged 70 and above were still behind the wheel in 2010 compared to 15% in 1975.

The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety says doctors need to be better at advising on someone's physical and mental ability to drive.

Donald Orchard, 91, took his driving test in 1937 and although he admits that some things have changed, he is still a confident motorist.
