An elderly woman has escaped unhurt after crashing her car into a swimming pool in Oxfordshire.

Thames Valley Police said the 83-year-old came off Foxborough Road in Radley, near Abingdon, drove through a garden fence and ended up in the empty pool.

She was helped from the vehicle, checked over and taken home in an ambulance but was uninjured.

The road was shut earlier while the car was lifted out of the pool by a lorry with a crane.
