Car falls into hole in Chertsey as water main bursts

A car has fallen into a hole in the ground in Surrey after a road collapsed when a major water main burst.
The BMW became stuck in Guildford Road, Chertsey, on Thursday after the 15in (38cm) pipe burst following heavy rain.
Veolia Water, which supplies Chertsey and north Surrey, said its engineers were carrying out repairs at the scene.
The A320 was closed at the junction of Holloway Hill and Guildford Road and Salesian School was forced to close its Guildford Road site to 1,200 pupils.
The school's sixth form, on a different site, remained open.
Veolia Water apologised for the inconvenience and said the repairs would be completed "as soon as possible".
In October last year the firm apologised when a section of the same road collapsed, leaving a car submerged in water.
