A woman was left stunned when her daughter's 21st birthday cake arrived with a little girl holding a white cane on top of it - thanks to an autocorrect blunder.

Marie Seggie, 52, had text a friend and asked her to bake the cake with 'a wee blond girl on top' for daughter Laura's birthday party, who is studying politics at university.

Mum texted her and asked her to put a wee blond figure on top.

Her younger daughter Emily, 17, then took a photo of the epic cake fail and posted it on Twitter only for it to go viral online.

The snap was retweeted and shared thousands of times by people all over the world including the US and Europe.

Emily said: "It was one of my mum's friends that made the cake for Laura. At the last minute, mum texted her and asked her to put a wee blond figure on top.

"When we got the cake on Friday, mum called us in and asked us if we could see anything wrong with it.

"We were a bit confused why there was a blind girl on top but then mum told us the mistake she had made with autocorrect.

"Thankfully we all saw the funny side of it, including my mum's friend.

"We were going to take it off the top because we weren't sure if it would be seen as offensive but decided to keep it in the end.

"We all just laughed about it. I uploaded it on Twitter and it just went crazy. I woke up and couldn't believe how many times it had been shared.

"A lot of my friends found it funny and people have been messaging me ever since.

"I am feeling the pressure of the fame!"

School-worker Marie added: "Hopefully next time I ask for a 'wee blonde girl' on Laura's cake my iPhone won't autocorrect to 'wee blind girl'. I must say it has given everyone such a laugh especially the white stick."
