Utility point customer bereavement

Utility point customer bereavement! worst customer service ever received, they closed the account as requested and arranged refund. July 2021. As yet I have not received the refund. I was then asked to log a complaint with their complaints department. which has been ignored.
I am absolutely disgusted at the lack of response, customer service and the fact that there is enough to deal with when someone passes away, to not have to chase continuously for 4 months to no avail!!!

shame on those vile 'humans' applauding their happiness for UP going bust, how about the poor employees who are now out of jobs and have families to look after? at least your energy will be taken over which is your only concern you have boo hoo!

employees of U.P…

I had loads of issues with UP but in no way hold their staff responsible...The problem is that these companies are allowed to get away with a bullying culture towards both employee's and customers. I have worked for poor employee's and was fortunate to be able to just walk away.

I've just logged in through the internet rather than app. No problem, all Info available.
Moneysavingexpert recommends to sit tight until we get contacted by whoever takes over. Any money in credit is save as well. No problems.

Governments looking after their own.

It was inevitable that the oil companies would put their prices up. Because we all stopped using petrol, aviation fuel etc so much during this pandemic governments around the world who survive on the tax from the oil companies and our insatiable appetite for everything oil-related which is taxed meant their coffers to pay the public sector wages was running low. What's the alternative, reduce civil servants ?!!!! no way, they will be the last to ever suffer financially or lose their jobs as so many have in the private sector

What is the point of Utility Point

What is the point of Utility Point (or its administrators) asking us to enter details of our meter readings when the Utility Point web site is not working and you CANNOT log in. Keep getting error 500 try again later, I’ve been trying for days now since I heard this shameful company has gone bust.
Companies House website shows the same director's for neon reef energy and the same address as this shameless company. Looks like a scam, one company goes bust set up another. Ofgem need to investigate this.

Falsely claiming to save me money on energy bills when there rates per kWhr and standing charge are higher in comparison to mine at Avro

Sad to see you go...

So very sad to hear news of company closure. We have been customers for over 3 years and have nothing but good service to report. Cannot understand other comments - we logged into our account ok and have been able to print off statement. Thanks Utility Point for the last few years - have never wanted to go elsewhere!

Poor customer service

I have no particular axe to grind with UP apart from the poor customer service. I understand the reasons for them going bust (along with others) but the information from the company has been poor.
My main problem is that I am being encouraged to submit meter reading onto a website that is no longer available! I have no idea what my account looks like or how to ensure accurate readings are submitted.

Ruth, if you had looked at the reviews then you would see that a new Company Called "neon reef energy" has appeared at the same Company Address, the only people who have lost out is us, we will have no choice but be put onto a very high tariff, paying as much as 50% MORE per Month, Shame on WHO !!!!

UP knew well in advance that they were going to fail, did they warn us, NO again who is vile HERE !!!

Further to my review entitled 'Utility…

Further to my review entitled 'Utility Point are a disgrace' (written days before their demise) this advice might be helpful to other UP customers.

UP folded with over £200 of mine in their coffers. Ofgem are a waste of space for the consumer so don't waste your time contacting them for money you are owed. God knows why they exist!

I contacted British Gas (who I switched to 6 weeks ago) and asked them who I should contact to have my money returned. Low and behold they have organised the refund for me.

Maybe EDF will do the same for those of you who had no choice but to switch your enegy account to them, if you make the first move.

PLEASE BE MINDFUL ANON ANON

Please be mindful Anon Anon that some of these employees added to customers' misery. This company ignored requests for refunds and employees themselves tried to recall emails allowing people to leave this shambolic company. Huge credits were retained at times when people themselves were losing their jobs and needed every penny!!!!!!!

Sad to see them go.

I've been with UP for 2 years and have no complaints at all. I found customer service and communication was excellent. Very disappointed to see they have ceased trading through no fault of their own. I thank them for their service and wish them the best for the future.

We were absolutely gutted when Utility Point ceased trading. During the years that we were with them, they always behaved in an exemplary manner. If we emailed them with a query they always got back to us within a very short time. We wish them luck.

been using UTILITY POINT & Had GREAT SERVICE

I was using UTILITY POINT for nearly three years as my energy supplier,
It’s a shame to hear the recent news they’ve gone into administration UP offered great rates,

sorry for any staff who will have lost their jobs.

It seems OFGEM are now organising the transfer to EDF who will be my supplier,

EDF have confirmed they will be taking over supply,

I'm also very sorry to see this company fall having been with them the last 3 years. Good tariffs, excellent website and attentive staff. Worked very well whilst it lasted. I think some of the posters on here need to reflect that wholesale prices have more than doubled in the past 2 to 3 months. Small companies do not have the financial clout to absorb that sort of hit. I wish them all the very best in getting new positions elsewhere...there are plenty of jobs available out there (or so they say).

please be mindful that the employees were not made aware of the business going into administration and they are just as devastated as a lot of the customers, let’s please think about livelihoods and careers that are now on the line. I wish all the staff at utility point the best of luck with future endeavours

A great pity.

Like everyone else, I am very sorry for all at this great company, thank them for their past service over 3+ years and wish them all good luck in the future. Meanwhile, my account has been transferred back to a company I left many years ago because of their charges.

Response to JUDE: the credit being retained was nothing to do with the employees, they were instructed with timescales and they were following instructions. Tried their best to help you and were apologetic, DO NOT blame the lower employees for higher management issues. They are human.
