The former “Grand Wizard” of the Ku Klux Klan has endorsed Nigel Farage for Prime Minister of Britain.

White nationalist David Duke declared his approval of the ex-Ukip leader on Twitter, saying “Farage will make a fine UK Prime Minister. Looking forward to that. #MAGA”

The hastag MAGA refers to Donald Trump’s slogan ‘make America great again’.

He sent the tweet with a link to a story about Nigel Farage’s recent dinner with President Trump in Washington DC.

Last week Mr Farage posted a picture of himself eating dinner with the President, his family and close advisors at Trump International Hotel, less than a mile from The White House.

Mr Farage was in the United States to address the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) where he spoke of the “global revolution” that started with Brexit.

Holocaust denier Mr Duke publicly backed President Trump in the race to the White House, describing his election victory as “one of the most exciting night’s of my life”.

Moments after President Trump’s inauguration speech in January he tweeted: “We did it! Congratulation Donald J. Trump President of the United States of America!”

Mr Duke is the author of books called “Jewish Supremacism” and “My Awakening: A Path to Racial Understanding”.

In 2000 he famously met with the British National Party’s then-leader Nick Griffin.

The official newspaper of the KKK, the Crusader, also embraced Mr Trump’s fierce campaign and used his slogan, “make America great again”
