Congestion Charge Rules Changed - Londoner
No surprise - it was bound to happen. I wish they would rename it though - it's not about congestion.

QUOTE
The threshold for exemption from the London Congestion Charge is to be reduced from 100g/km to 75g/km.

From 1 July only cars and vans that emit less than 75g/km and are Euro 5-compliant, or those that are pure electric vehicles, will be exempt from the charge.

In a concession to motorists who have purchased a car on the basis of its charge exemption, however, Transport for London is to offer a ‘Sunset Period’ of three years.

Yes, about as predictable as a wet Bank holiday. Same as the Govt. will start to increase the tax on diesel to compensate for all the motorists using less fuel.

Wasn't it Mr. Blair who let the cat out of the bag about fuel duty, in that it was needed to fund the NHS rather than for all this environmental twaddle?
