What does she do for a living, that's what I want to know. Nothing useful, I'll wager.

V. Sorry. A moment of madness. I crossed my wires, I was actually referring to another link involving some woman who had glued herself to a man, thereby blocking a gate on a fracking site in, I think, Sussex.

It can happen to the best of us. Put it down to my youth, or something!

Thought of you ealier Pat. Don't often see Brett's lorries round here but had to tuck in sharp this morning to let one over the narrow bridge on the Nene at Kislingbury.

Presumably delivering to either Heygates or Unusual.

You are confused?

I think I am reading a conversation in English intended for Martians...

I think Duncan thought he was commenting on this article:

....rather than then one in the OP.

Maybe spending to much time in his purported favourite establishments.

Ahh all is clear now thanks. And, like Duncan, no I've no idea who her 'famous parents' are.

Ray Davis was in the Kinks, quite a good band actually. No doubt Chrissie Hynde is some sort of warbler... the name rings a very faint bell.

You don't have to be famous to mind when your children provoke the authorities and get into small-small trouble in support of lost causes though. You sort of admire them for it, but you wish they wouldn't.

Chrissie Hynde - leader of the Pretenders.
Beaware of Prat Nav + Darwin cyclist on M25 - Pat
That would be Heygates Bromp!

Chrissie Hynde...Brass in Pocket (should ring a bell to some!)

The bands ring a bell, wouldn't have a clue who was in them.
Beaware of Prat Nav + Darwin cyclist on M25 - Manatee
Ray Davies - Yours Truly, Confused, N10 with Jools's big band.

Could be an anthem for the forum...

Ace pop musician.

The Pretenders. A popular beat combo, m'lud!

Probably too recent for you.

Unfortunately those of us who live in Surrey are having to put up with more and more mad cyclists on the roads, such as this one, since the Olympics put us on the map!

There does seem to be a lot more roadies here at the weekends since summer 2012. Even now. The bumper crop of new potholes hasn't put them off at all.

In Staffordshire, Audi drivers kill cyclists.. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-23953802

(Not the only case sadly).

I would not cycle on our local roads as there are too many car drivers who have no idea of how to drive near cyclists , horses.. or other cars for that matter...

Whilst I agree with you there, it's also very much the case, based on my own observations as an HGV driver who probably sees a lot more on a daily basis than most on here, that there are also a lot of cyclists who would benefit from a Cycling Proficiency course, even as adults. Even more would benefit from a hearing aid and a visit to Specsavers, although a ban on using personal entertainment systems whilst riding may well have the same effect.

I posted in here a few days ago about a cyclist who overtook one of his fellows without so much as a glance to see what was behind him first, and that sort of thing is not uncommon.

The inescapable fact is that whoever is in the wrong, it is inevitably the cyclist who comes off worse. Whist it is right that other road users should observe the guidance of the Highway Code and drive sensibly, this should not absolve cyclists of their responsibility to do likewise.

We call them the Pyrford Peleton.

The Lad's tweet on subject covers it:

This is great evidence of why we must remember in these wonderful times of technological bliss, not to lose our common sense.

Good lane discipline at the Motorway junctions :-)

Sadly, we lost one a couple of weeks ago on the A34....student highway.
