Somebody posted on a Facebook group about needing a registration plate for a caravan if towing in Europe.
Googling took me to this advice from CAMC:
www.caravanclub.co.uk/overseas-holidays/useful-information/travelling-in-europe/driving-in-europe/
Since August last year it's been strongly recommended that caravans over 750kg be registered with DVLA and a plate displayed on the rear of the van.
As I expect to go for my usual trip in summer - unless fuel shortages ground me - I need to get that sorted out.

How are you planning on fixing the second plate?

you get your euro reg number from dvla, then contact an online company, give them the number, and they post you a square white sticky plastc plate. Normally placed up high rear l/h side.
I think its more than "suggested" believe it to be a requirement.

The DVLA page says they are ’expected’ to be registered and they ’may’ take action, then goes on to say they ’must’ be registered for use abroad.

Plate issued.
Easy enough on DVLA website and authority to issue sent by email.
Halfords said on the phone they could do it but girl on the counter decided they could not.
Motor Factors by Saints' ground couldn't either but truck spares place could.
In grab bag for when we're next out to the 'van.
