 Driver's wiper blade aerofoil - L'escargot
Should the aerofoil on the driver's wiper blade be above or under the blade? I fitted it under. (I forgot to look at how the previous blade was fitted.)

Definitely under on my 1999 Focus.
The body of the blade steps down where it attaches to the arm. I'm not sure it would fit the other way round.

Under, airflow up the glass will press the blade onto the windscreen.

Depends if you're taking off or landing I suppose...

Thanks guys. That's put my mind at rest.

Years ago one of my friends insisted on fitting those little pairs of three aerofoil blades to the wiper arms on his car. We would regularly turn them upside down and see how many days it took him to notice :)

The C8 has wipers that park in the centre of the screen; are they called butterfly pattern? Aerofoils on top.

Does anyone remember the aftermarket accessory 'aerofoils' in the form of three angled plastic squares which clipped on to the wiper arm? Popular in the 70's and 80's IRCC, and often displayed in a number of lairy colours.
And we think today's bolt on tat is tacky. :-)
EDIT - Sorry just saw Dave_TD's post.
