Have a Twingo Gordini as a test car.
OOOOOH! I like!
Eats 335s, corners like it is on rails (720 round the local roundabout last night); and is generally a go-kart.
I love it. I want one. TOTALLY impractical, though.
I DON'T CARE!

That was hard work. Tried to look it up on Renault web site. Thye really don't want to tell you how fast it goes. It's nearly £20k list (gulp!) for the Gordini 200 but keep reading and you will reach;

1998cc
205bhp
215Nm (no mention of at what revs for this or bhp)
0 - 60 in 6.9 seconds
topping out at 141 mph

Insurance group 12 - cheap isn't it?
cd - 0.725 (it's a brick?)
No mention of weight

www.renault.co.uk/cars/model/new-clio/trim/gordini/pricesandspecs.aspx

Hmm, not bad and it is fast but that cd must be holding it back and has it eaten too many pies? Is 6.9 seconds respectable for 205bhp in such a small car?

But I'm quibbling. Is the engine in the proper place for a Gordini i.e. where the back seats were?

This one has a 1600, 16v up front.
201 km/h, but quick through the gears, with a 'change gear now' light at about 6750.

Yes there seem to be three variants on the web site so I went for the one with the biggest number of course!

Oh, and I'll have mine in French Racing Blue and I'll spend a few bob getting rid of the go faster stripes, setting it back to shopping trolley spec in appearance.

Our chief weapon is surprise...

My sentiments exactly, John!
Lose the stripes*, the white foglight surrouns, mirrors and spoiler, and what a Q Car it will be!

* Racing stripes. Well and good. In principle, and think about where the concept came from.
Except I CANNOT SEE THE BONNET ANYWAY, so what is the point?
Apart from tartiness...

Renault make a good hot hatch just now :-)

The 2.0 clio lump revs to 7.5k or 8k with it's ferrari yellow tacho. Braking for corners completely optional.

Thirsty though.

Your link points to the Clio Gordini.

The Twingo Gordini has a 1.6L 133PS motor.

It maxes out at 125mph and takes 8.7 secs to reach 62mph - not exactly quick.

Go here www.renault.co.uk/cars/model/newtwingo/gordini.aspx and "View ebrochure"

Prices start at £13k before options.

Really!/ Oops, sorry.

I did say they didn't make it easy! :-)
