 Bloodhound & engineers wanted. - henry k
Last week I went to lecture by Wing Commander Andy Green.
It was obviously about Bloodhound but also about getting more children interested in engineering. He is trying to get as many schools as possible to sign up to the project. Is your local school on board?

So much interesting info on many topics.
Currently there appears to be a couple of factors that will limit the record advancing much beyond 1000mph.
What to make the wheels from and a longer track.
Aluminium wheels for these attempts but exotic materials beyond ?
All tracks used to date are not suitable for a variety of reasons.
Having searched the globe they found in South Africa the Hakskeen Pan in the Northern Cape near near Upington. They have exclusive use of it.
The website has lots of info about it.
I guess unless the Chinese take up the challenge and create their own track Bloodhound looks like the final attempt on the record.

A fantastic project that more companies are sponsoring but we Brits are too modest about such a project.
