One of my all-time favorite actors and, like most peops, I could have swore e'e appeared in more-than about 3 episodes of Porridge. I luved him in Citizen Smith too and have all the series/s on DiViD.

I really liked his character in Porridge.
One of his quotes made me chuckle: "I was never going to get a romantic lead!"

There was a very good B-film in which he played an insurance investigator.
A minor sub-plot was his own mild fiddling of his expenses claims, culminating in rounding up the cost of the umbrella that was damaged in his course of duty.
