Please read the note on the home page of this website detailing changes made to comply with Ofcom regulations.

Many thanks to Smokie for sorting this out for us. He has done some very hard work over the past few weeks and without it we would have to simply shut this forum down just like others have. I told him I didn't have the time, and would only keep it running if someone else did the work. Well he did and it is an excellent job.

He may have used others on this site, so if I missed mentioning you, thanks in advance and Smokie can name if you needed.

If I have missed anything out that anyone else sees, then leave a comment below and I can fix.

Have removed the classified forum.
Too much compliance needed for little use.

I don't remember what "Future Ideas" was about.

However, there was a plan to develop c4p back in 2011. I was part of a focus group and we had to sign a non-disclosure form.

I notice there's still a tab for "My Drive", so maybe the whole thing is still live - after all, it's only 13 years or so ago.

Maybe Stephen or someone else in the know could enlighten us about what happened to the project.

I think it's fair to say that car4play never grew into an economically viable site and thus no further development took place. I suspect with the number of users it doesn't even pay its own way now.

Which is a shame as there were some great ideas at the time. However I quite like its "intimacy" where we have just a few tens of very familiar faces.
