Not sure the <16Mbps I'll be getting from my new Sky service is going to be fast enough, so I'm looking at alternatives. Do you think 1.4Tbps would be sufficient?

Bouncing the signal Via Birmingham?
I'd settle for Fibre of minimum spec in my street - 20 years ago a Fibre cable was laid along the main road - 5 metres from my back garden.
Fibre is available 200 metres from my home (different exchange).........latest BT estimate for fibre in our local exchange is 2016!

Only 78mbps here in Aylesbury.

Telewest installed cable down my street and a number of others in the town at least a couple of decades ago (now Virgin). Never interested as the cost of broadband and phone service was always far too expensive.

Normal testing procedure would be to loop back on the same route, so they can add in multiples of the route length.
So they would do Tower - Adastral - Tower - Adastral, so three legs at approx 85 miles apiece so 3*85 = 255 miles.
