 Internet Down - Bromptonaut
Our FTTP web connection went down momentarily a couple of times earlier in the week and then yesterday it was off from around 14:00 with none of the usual turn it off/on cures working.

Forty minutes on the phone to ISP tech help got no further and we were referred to Openreach for one of their folks to check the connection in the roadside conduit etc.

As part of the tests done with Plusnet's guy the router was reset.

Around 16:30, while chatting to neighbour over road whose ISP is BT and was also disconnected, it came back up.

However, having done a reset, nothing apart from my desktop which must have retained the default settings would connect. No BBC Sounds/I-player, Alexa was telling me with a mid Atlantic drawl that the web was not available and various other bits of kit were hors de combat as well.

Web dependency creeps up on you doesn't it...

Spent a good hour this morning finding the original wi-fi key and hub manager passwords so SSID and wifi passkey could be returned to status quo ante.

All OK now but a reminder of need to keep default passwords etc where you can lay a hand on them...
