circa 2013 first gen Ipad Air..not been able to update OS for a number of years. Or download apps.
Am I best using BackMarket or Apple Reconditioned ( which i believe have a new battery)?
Obviously buying second hand…at my age probably the last one i buy so happy to splash the cash, once I decide whether I want an 11” or 13”
screen, which is a good excuse for a midweek day out in Leeds.
Thanks

Buy new from John Lewis has been our preferred source for last five iPads (between three of us). I once bought an “as new” refurb one from an another major retailer. It seemed OK at first but had an odd overlap in the middle of the screen that wasn’t obvious unless you loaded a full screen photo.
I took it into an Apple Store and they had never seen such a fault. They offered to do a full clear and reset but I didn’t want to be caught between them and the supplier if this didn’t work.
So I got a refund and bought new. I always keep mine five plus years so the extra cost is not much p.a.
As for screen size I usually get whatever is standard. I am not sure of the current standard storage size but mine is a bit tight and I always have to optimise storage to do IOS updates So you might want to ensure you have plenty of storage for whatever you tend to use it for.
